The Bollock Brothers - “Harley David” b/w “Son of a Bitch” 12″

The Bollock Brothers are perhaps best well known for doing a sort of electro-new wave remake of the Sex Pistols’ Never Mind the Bollocks, called, fittingly, Never Mind the Bollocks 1983.  I can’t believe I’d never heard of this before today, and I feel strangely compelled to track down a copy as soon as possible.

That aside, this was one of the 12″ records I picked up the other day, featuring an English language cover of Serge Gainsbourg’s “Harley David,” with the B side given over to a different version of the same general concept which is credited as an original.  The B side in particular has that repetitive English-football-chant quality to it that reminds me a lot of The Barmy Army and early Oi!  It’s catchy as hell despite it’s basic character.

Not sure this one is super-fantastic enough to run out and get, but if you find a nice, cheap used copy like I did it’s definitely a fun record.
